About 65 Ethiopian nationals have returned home from Tanzania on Tuesday morning, after they were pardoned by the Tanzanian government.

Tanzania pardoned a total of 231 Ethiopians it arrested over allegations of illegal entry into the country.

And 65 of them have returned to Addis Abeba Wednesday and the remaining will be repatriated in collaboration with the Ethiopian Airlines and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

IOM descried the returnees as “all male and young” and they were arrested while they were heading to South Africa.

About 15 Ethiopian nationals were also repatriated from Libya in partnership with IOM.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs repatriated a total of 2,250 Ethiopians from Saudi Arabia recently.(Daily monitor)
