The conflict between Oromo Democratic Party (ODP) and Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) seem to be compelling religious leaders to get involved as mediators.

Ethiopian state media, EBC, reported late Thursday that elders and religious leaders have started mediation effort in Addis Abeba to resolve the difference between the two parties. And they held discussion with the leadership of OLF on Thursday.

Secretary of religious leaders, MegabiZerihun Degu, said the leaders wanted to find out what is happening between the two parties. Their approach to OLF Thursday aims at look for if they can influence its behavior for constructive dialogue with the party that is governing Oromia region, ODP. (ዳኢልይ ሞኒቶር)
